I Haven't Written ANY Code in Over a Year and I Feel... Meh!
It's been a strange year for me. Since switching roles to focus on UI/UX design, I've found myself in a reflective state, pondering over my career trajectory and the choices I've made. The truth is, I've not written any production code for over a year, and it feels... meh. I ventured into design to combat burnout, hoping for a fresh perspective, only to realize that I deeply miss the intricacies of programming.
"I thought stepping away from programming would help alleviate my burnout, but it's done quite the opposite," I admit. My days spent maneuvering through Figma files and pixel adjustments couldn't replace the satisfaction derived from solving problems through code. The realization hit me hard – I miss being a programmer.
This journey has been one of introspection and realization. My experiment with focusing solely on design has not only highlighted my genuine passion for coding but also sparked a desire to dive back into it, especially with emerging technologies like Next.js catching my eye. "I'm motivated to start coding again," I find myself saying, a statement that reflects both a personal desire and a potential shift in the content I create.
As I ponder the future, I'm intrigued by the idea of learning and teaching new programming skills, possibly through creating content around Next.js tutorials. It's an opportunity to not only refresh and expand my own skills but to also engage with my audience on a topic I'm passionate about. The prospect of building a SaaS product also looms on the horizon, a project that could marry my love for programming with the creativity and innovation of design.
This reflection is more than just a personal recount; it's a call to my audience for guidance and suggestions. What programming content do you wish to see? How can I blend my diverse interests to create content that's both fulfilling for me and valuable for you? "This might be an opportunity for me to start making some of that content again," I muse, hopeful and excited about the possibilities ahead.
As I navigate this crossroads, I'm reminded of the importance of staying true to one's passions and interests. The journey back to programming isn't just about rekindling a lost love; it's about embracing the multifaceted aspects of my interests, from coding to design to lifestyle content. It's a commitment to growth, learning, and most importantly, to the community that has supported me throughout this journey.
Your feedback is invaluable to me as I contemplate this new chapter. Let me know what you think, what you'd like to see, and how I can continue to inspire and contribute to our shared journey in technology and creativity. Together, let's explore the endless possibilities that programming and design offer.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Let's see where this renewed passion takes us.
